Finish my makeup today...

I finished my first 100 eye shadows today. I have around 18 different colors. It's amazing how well I picked up on blending colors together to make new shades. The whole concept is relatively new to me. But, with the internet and the book I got, I just jumped right in and got it done. I am very pleased with my colors. Now, I have to spend countless hours getting the product sold. I have the website, Etsy, and Facebook. I've only sold one eyeshadow so far. I've talked to two local consignment shops and I need to go in and visit our local coffee shop. I need to sell 100 by April 1st in order to buy more product. I think I am going to start blending foundation next week. I have everything I need except the compacts to put the product into.

Money is tight and I don't have the credit to borrow money in order to invest in more product and marketing tools. I just have to hope that it's good enough and it sells itself once I get people using it. I've tried all the eye shadows and they stay on well, they are a silky texture, and of course natural, talc-free, and vegan. It's important to me that my product be friendly to my customers. Health-friendly that it. Women should wear make up not only to feel good or look good but to express themselves. Your makeup shouldn't give you cancer or cause irritation. I can't wait to use real women (not models who are airbrushed) and photograph them wearing my makeup. I want my customers to see what the product actually looks like. When you see a commercial for makeup it's always so computerized and the lighting is just perfect. That isn't reality.

I want to open my own shop. It will sell makeup, teach classes on how to make makeup, have parties (bridal showers, birthday parties, ECT) and seminars on how to apply makeup. I have so many ideas. Maybe I can spend time at local shops selling until I have enough money to rent out a space. That would be so cool! The idea excites me. I want to work with my boyfriend. We want to sell coffee, have a little consignment thing going, have a place where the geeks can play Magic the Gathering aka MTG. This town is in desperate need of a place where students can buy and sell textbooks. I always see students who just can't get to Bookbyte on time. They don't have a car, they are lazy, or they just throw their books away at the end of the year because they don't care about the value. I want to turn that into a profit-making machine for me.

My house has fallen apart over the past two days because I have spent so much time making makeup. I gotta take sometime to get my house back in order. I also have to dedicate more time to finding things to consign to bring in more money. Maybe I'll start my recipe book for makeup soon too. I do have biology starting spring term. Still don't know if I am taking that at WOU or Chemeketa.

Well, my boyfriend is waiting to watch "House of Cards." Great original Netflix series. Watches episode one last night.

Love,

Jenny
