Resources are important when starting a new business

WWCYYUUHQ3FY

I went to the library today when my son was in tutoring. He home schools right now and visits a tutor one-hour a day Mon-Fri. we got good news today that his high school is going to set up a place for him to study at school and he gets to start track next week. Back to the library visit... I picked up a book: The Social Media Bible: Tactics, Tools, and Strategies for Business Success by Safko & Brake. This book is awesome! I've already used the tools section around page 632 to link my website and blog to search engines. I haven't even begin to dive deep into all the resources available in this book. Let me share one.

Technorati.com

This search engine focuses on blogs. Best of all...it's free! I know there are some services you can pay for. I just haven't looked into those yet. It is great exposure for my website and blog.

Not so good news about my eyeshadow containers...I got my order of 100 containers from amazon.com today and they are too small! I had to order a different size from ebay.com. I did however develop an idea for using the smaller ones. They are 3 grams. I am going to stock up on sample sizes to sell for only $3.99. This way, customers can decide which eye shadows they like best and then buy the 5 gram size. There really isn't anything worse than buying an eyeshadow, putting it on, and hating the color. I should get my kit tomorrow from tkbtrading.com and I can begin by making my sample colors and packaging those. I bought 200 containers (5g) and I should get those by the weekend.

My goal is to sell 100 units in 30 days. I really hope to make this happen. I need to schedule my makeup party. That is next on my agenda. I will also run a party online for my friends who cannot make it. Then, I'll book parties with friends to keep the business going. Just like Mary Kay or Avon except my makeup in hand-made, talc-free, and vegan. Also, I will hook up my hosts with makeup regardless of how much they book. This is about building relationships, a customer base, and promoting my product. Eventually, I might show other women how to make makeup and they can start their own parties. I won't get involved in the multi-level marketing system. I refuse.

Hopefully, tomorrow I will have my shipment and get to post pictures of my kit. I look forward to sharing my experience through video blogs!

Love,

Jenny
